The Research, Innovation & Outreach Division provides strategic leadership in advancing research excellence, innovation, industry partnerships, consultancy, and community engagement at Maasai Mara University. Headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Outreach), the Division drives impactful research, fosters innovation, and strengthens collaborations that translate knowledge into solutions for society.

Our Mandate
The Division is dedicated to empowering students and researchers by providing policy direction, coordination, and support in the following key areas:
Research Excellence – Fostering high-quality, ethical, and impactful research that enhances learning, discovery, and innovation for students and academic staff across all schools and disciplines.
Innovation & Commercialization – Supporting students and researchers to transform innovative ideas into practical products, services, and solutions with real-world impact.
University–Industry Linkages – Creating meaningful partnerships that connect students and researchers with industry, promoting knowledge transfer, technology adoption, and enhanced career opportunities.

School Research & Innovation Coordinator
School Research & Innovation Coordinators support students to actively participate in research and innovation within their schools. They serve as mentors, guides, and connectors, helping students turn ideas into impactful academic and practical outcomes by offering research guidance, helping refine topics, linking students with supervisors, and promoting ethical, high-quality research. They nurture innovation by identifying creative ideas and connecting students to incubation programs, competitions, and innovation platforms. They also provide real-world exposure by linking students to industry and community-based projects that address societal challenges, share information on research funding and grant opportunities while guiding proposal development, and support students in showcasing their work through conferences, exhibitions, publications, and other academic forums.
