University Admission

The University offers a wide range of competitive academic programmes under the Government-sponsored student’s Programme (GSSP) and privately sponsored students programmes (PSSP). The Government-sponsored students are admitted through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) while the Privately sponsored students apply directly to the University for admission.

General Minimum Admission Requirements

Applicants admitted into programmes offered at Maasai Mara University must meet the following general minimum entry requirements in addition to specific subject requirements for each programme. We wish to encourage the youth and other age groups to enroll in the various Certificates, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes offered by the University. 

Step 1: Application for admission should be made on Official Application Forms which can be downloaded here OR you can apply directly ONLINE by clicking the link Undergraduate / Postgraduate, OR you can obtain the forms from any of the following offices:

Step 2: Duly completed application forms should be returned to any of the offices indicated above, accompanied with a non-refundable fee of Ksh.500/= for Certificate and Diploma courses, Ksh.1,000/= for undergraduate programmes and Ksh.2,000/=for Postgraduate programmes.

 Payment to be made through the e-citizen platform, in the following steps (Install Jiunge app for payment of fees and university services)

  1. Go to playstore and download Jiunge App
  2. Install it on your phone
  3. Input your e-mail address
  4. Input the OTP sent to your e-mail to log in to the home tab
  5. Click on more tab then click set account  password
  6. Log in with the email and password
  7. View the services and select the service you wish to pay for
  8. Tap to pay for service
  9. pay by M-pesa
  10. A receipt will be sent to your email once the transaction is completed

Undergraduate programmes

Minimum mean grade of C+ at KCSE OR

principals and 1 subsidiary pass at “A” level OR

A Diploma in a relevant field of study from a recognized institution.

In addition, applicants must meet the specific subject requirements for each programme

Masters programmes

Bachelors Degree, Second Class (Upper Division) in a relevant field of study or its equivalent from a recognized University OR

Bachelors Degree, Second class Honors (Lower Division), with at least two years post qualification work experience OR

Bachelors Degree with a Pass and a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field of study.

Ph.D. programmes

Masters degree in a relevant field of study, from a recognized university.
