Welcome to the Department of Computing & Information Sciences, within the School of Pure and Applied Sciences at Maasai Mara University. The Department is home to a dedicated team of experienced academic staff whose expertise spans Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Science — making it one of the most dynamic computing departments in the region.

Our research and teaching are united by a commitment to technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges, with staff interests spanning ICT for Development, data science, network and information security, and digital systems innovation. The Department maintains strong links with industry, contributing to technology transfer and applied research in support of Kenya’s growing digital economy.

We offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Information Science at undergraduate level, and Master of Science and PhD programmes for those seeking advanced specialisation. Our graduates go on to build successful careers in software development, data analytics, telecommunications, and the public sector, both within Kenya and internationally.
