Maasai Mara University Hosts Capacity-Building Workshop for staff on Access to Information and Public Complaints Management
The Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation and Outreach, representing the Vice-Chancellor, officially opened a two-day capacity-building workshop on the implementation of the Access to Information Act and the effective handling of public complaints at the University Hall.
The workshop has been organized by the Department of Public Complaints in partnership with the Office of the Commission on Administrative Justice. The training aims to enhance the implementation of the Access to Information Act by equipping staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote transparency, accountability, and timely public access to information.
It also seeks to strengthen the effective handling of public complaints by guiding staff on proper procedures for receiving, recording, documenting, and forwarding complaints to the relevant offices for appropriate action.
Additionally, the workshop is designed to promote professionalism and responsiveness in public service delivery, ensuring that complaints and information requests are handled efficiently and in accordance with legal and institutional guidelines.
The training is being facilitated by Victor Elikana Ongaya, Strategy and Compliance Officer and Kipkogei Koech, Public Education and Advocacy Officer.
