The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho has won the Community Development for Managing the Environment Personality of the year trophy at the ETA Awards, Kenya.

The event was held at Machakos International Convention Center, Machakos on the night of 5th September 2025.
The vice-chancellor was accompanied by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research Innovation and Outreach Prof. Francis Mburu, Dean of Students Mr. Mohamed A. Adan, Director Public Relations, Marketing and Linkages Dr. Edward Kateiya, Coordinator, Centre for Community Outreach Mr. Jackson Ole Masago, Acting Deputy Registrar Research , Innovation and Research Mr. Galfen Omuse, student representatives among others.
