Professor Cedric Gauchel, a Theoretical Ecologist from INRAE France, paid a courtesy visit to Vice-Chancellor Professor Peninah Aloo-Obudho.
He expressed interest in collaborating with Maasai Mara University on Environment and Human-Wildlife Conflict in the Greater Maasai Mara Ecosystem (GMME) in Narok County, Kenya. During the visit, Vice-Chancellor Professor Peninah Aloo-Obudho appreciated the gesture of collaboration and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with European countries, especially universities, as well as the need for research and partnerships.
The Greater Maasai Mara Eco Systems collaboration is crucial for the university because it supports the Maasai Mara University 5M Pillars, which include the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the Mara River, the Mau Forest, Maasai Culture, and Maombi kwa Wote, guiding the entire process. These 5MS were envisioned by Vice-Chancellor Professor Peninah Aloo-Obudho.
