Narok County Primary Schools Greening Program

A total of 150 students from 30 schools were trained on tree nursery seeding production and management.

Maasai Mara University successfully launched the Narok County Primary Schools Greening Program in a ceremony presided over by Chief Guest, Mamo Boru Mamo, EBS - Director General, NEMA. The event, hosted by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho, took place with the active participation of esteemed guests, including Agnes Busienei representing the University Council Chair and Rev. Dr. Dawson Mudenyo from the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya. Additionally, various Narok County Environment and Education Stakeholders were in attendance.

Objectives:

The primary objectives of the Narok County Primary Schools Greening Program launch were to promote environmental conservation, instill a sense of responsibility towards nature in students, and provide training on tree nursery seeding production and management.

 The Chief Guest Mr. Mamo Boru Mamo, EBS, the Director General of NEMA, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the significance of environmental conservation and the pivotal role schools play in nurturing a culture of sustainability.
Ms. Agnes Busienei, representing the University Council Chair, commended the initiative and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions, government bodies, and stakeholders.
Rev. Dr. Dawson Mudenyo, from the Office of the First Lady, highlighted the commitment of the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya to environmental causes and commended the partnership with Maasai Mara University.

Training Session:
