Today, the University was honoured to host representatives from Indigenous Livelihoods Enhancement Partners Africa (ILEPA) for a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho. ILEPA team was led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kimaren ole Riamit.
Mr. Riamit briefed the Vice-Chancellor about ILEPA’s objectives and activities: securing rights and voices through capacity building and community empowerment, nature-based solutions and climate resilience, research and knowledge management, sustainable livelihoods, networks and collaborations.
The Vice-Chancellor welcomed the visit as a hallmark of a positive network towards harnessing and promoting the 5 Ms more specifically the Maa Culture.
The discussions focused on fostering partnerships in community empowerment, environmental conservation, and indigenous knowledge integration for sustainable development.
ILEPA officially welcomed the V.C to the upcoming PACT international conference on indigenous led research and education.
Other ILEPA staff present were Ms. Easter Kinywa and Ms. Elizabeth Parkire ILEPA. The ILEPA visit was coordinated by Ruth. W. Sipitiek Department Health Services.
