HISTORIC SITE HANDOVER FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AT JOHANNA NG'ENO UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Maasai Mara University has marked a major milestone with the official handover of the construction site for Johanna Ng’eno University College at Simotwet Secondary School, Emmurua Dikirr Constituency, Transmara East Sub-County, Narok County. The ceremony was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho, PhD, EBS, and attended by the Deputy Governor of Narok County, Hon. Tamalinye Koech, the area MCA, local leaders, and members of the community.

Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Aloo-Obudho reaffirmed the University’s commitment to delivering the project with the highest standards of quality, integrity, transparency, and accountability. She noted that the new constituent college will expand access to quality higher education, strengthen research and innovation, and contribute to the socio-economic transformation of the region.

In his remarks, Hon. Tamalinye Koech welcomed the project, describing it as a significant investment in education and regional development. He commended Maasai Mara University for bringing university education closer to the people and pledged the County Government’s continued support.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by Dr. Maurice Ombok, Dean, School of Business and Economics and Member of the Senate Ad Hoc Committee for the Establishment of Johanna Ng’eno University College; Dr. Augustine Kaara, Member of the Senate Ad Hoc Committee; Mr. Paul Sankale Loonturot, Estates Manager; Ms. Pentina Ayabei, Secretariat to the Senate Ad Hoc Committee; and Mr. Nickson Magak, Public Relations, Marketing and Linkages.

The contractor is expected to construct modern lecture halls, student hostels, and an administration block, paving the way for the operationalisation of Johanna Ng’eno University College as a centre of academic excellence, innovation, and community transformation.
