
HEARTS4CLIMATE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
August 4 - August 8
Maasai Mara University and the African Community for Partners in Planetary Health and Environment (ACOPPHE) are destined to hold the inaugural HEARTS4Climate International Conference, 2025.
The conference is scheduled to take place between 3rd to 9th August, 2025 in Maasai Mara University and other parts of Narok County.
The Conference theme is ‘Uniting for a Healthy Planet for All’.
The Conference is multidisciplinary and accepts abstracts from various disciplines as illustrated in the Attached Flyer.
The Conference will involve the following;
a) Oral and Poster Presentations
b) Keynote addresses
c) Exhibitions
d) Workshops including – Grass Taxonomy training (involving onsite lectures and field activities in the Mara) by Prof Chandrakhant Salunkhe (India)
– Snakes Management Training by SnakesApp team
– Soils health and management by CIFOR
– Carbon finance, credits, economy, politics
The conference will also involve the following outdoor activities; a) Green jobs fair; b) Cultural foods festival; c) Bike ride to conserve Nairekie e nkare wetland; d) Indigenous peoples’ celebrations at Sekenani gate, Maasai Mara National Reserve; e) Land rehabilitation at Naisoya, Mau forest; f) Planetary health celebrations/ Sherehe ya sayari; g) Cultural film festivals; h) Bird watching activities and a Gala Dinner.
The registration charges are Ksh. 1,500 for all students and Ksh. 2,500 for staff. (Registration fees cover access to the conference activities, Certificate, Daytime meals, bag and T-shirt).
The Deadline for Abstracts Submission is 15th June, 2025
