Careers

Meteorologists enter the professional world. After additional preparation aimed at developing competencies for a specific job (which should include an orientation period, on-the-job training and additional training courses), they gradually assume operational duties in weather analysis and forecasting, climate monitoring and prediction, or other relevant applications. Some Meteorologists will become involved in consulting, directing, decision-making and management; others will become involved in areas such as research and development, or teaching.
