Strengthening Global Academic Ties: Maasai Mara University meets Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT)

The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho, PhD, EBS, represented by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research Innovation and Outreach) Prof. Francis Mburu, accompanied by a cross section of University management, staff and students, today, 12th August 2026, proudly welcomed a distinguished delegation from Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology led by the Vice-President Prof. Fan Jiapin who was accompanied by staff and students from Shenzhen University.

This marks another significant milestone in the University’s journey towards becoming a globally connected centre of research and innovation.

Hosted by the Centre for Climate Change and Biodiversity Conservation (CCCBC) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Wycliffe Wanzala, PhD, the meeting brought together scholars united by one common goal to use science, innovation, and collaboration to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

This strategic engagement focused on fostering international collaboration in the fields of:

  • Development of academic exchange programs
  • Joint research initiatives
  • Studentship programs like China-Kenya Student dialogue and summer fields
  • Technology Transfer and Innovation
