The Tourism Tech Innovation Challenge is a collaborative initiative co-hosted by Startup School Kenya and Maasai Mara University. The event is part of a national program designed to strengthen university-led innovation ecosystems by helping students translate research into practical, venture-backed solutions.

The challenge targets technology solutions within the following sectors, reflecting the unique geographic and academic strengths of Maasai Mara University:
Tourism, Conservation, Hospitality, Sports-related technology
Event Format
The challenge is designed as a high-intensity, milestone-based program consisting of:
72-Hour Physical Innovation Challenge: An intensive period for students to develop their ideas.
Mentorship: Guidance from both academic experts and industry practitioners. Final Pitch Session: A concluding event where top teams are selected for future pipeline linkages and further development.

Maasai Mara University: Providing academic leadership, research alignment, and student mobilization.
