The lecture was attended by key university officials, including Dr. Edward Kateiya, Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Linkages; Dr. Dennis Ikachoi, Chair of the Department of Media, Film and Communication; Dr. Lilly Koske, Chair of the Department of Language, Linguistics and Culture; and Ms. Hilda Muigu, an adjunct lecturer who played a key role in linking the Department of Media, Film and Communication with Mr. Kaikai. Faculty members and students were also present and actively participated in the discussions.

Maasai Mara University proudly hosted a thought-provoking public lecture on governance, media, and ethics, delivered by Mr. Linus Kaikai, Group Editorial Director of Royal Media Services and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
The session brought together students, faculty, and university leadership for an engaging discussion about journalism’s role in shaping accountable societies. Drawing on his career, Mr. Kaikai highlighted the evolution of Kenya’s media landscape and emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the public interest. He underscored the media’s responsibility to hold governments accountable, a pillar of democracy and transparency.
