       Education

  • Master of Forest Science (MSc), University of Canterbury, Christchurch New Zealand (2013 – 2015)
  • BSc. Wood Science & Technology, Moi University, Kenya (1999 – 2004)

       Areas of Research Interest

  • Forest Engineering and Logging Mechanisation.
  • Timber Harvesting Systems (Machines, Productivity, and Energy Consumption)
  • Forest Management/Management Science
  • Forest Transportation Systems and Roading
  • Wood Products Processing, Bioenergy, and Wood Science
  • Studies in these research areas are done through the application of skills gained in operations research, modeling, time studies, statistical techniques, and ArcGIS. These studies are aimed at improving on forest operational efficiencies (costs, productivity, systems mechanization, operational skills, and ergonomics) through optimal tactical planning approaches in technical feasibility, financial viability, sound environmental practices, and safety.
