Mission: To Provide Skills and Knowledge for Effective and Efficient Business Management.

The Department of Business Management is one of the departments with the highest student population spread out in all its programmes. 

We are currently running the following programmes;

Academic programmes

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management with the following specializations;

  1. Human Resource Management

  2. Finance

  3. Accounting

  4. Entrepreneurship

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics.

Master of Business Administration

Minimum entry requirements:

  • Holders of a 1st Class/2nd Class (Upper Division) degree in Business, Economics, Administration or Commerce from a recognized University OR.

  • 2nd Class Bachelors Degree (Lower Division) in a relevant area of study with at least two years of post-qualification work experience or with a relevant postgraduate diploma from a recognized institution.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Pass and a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field.

Masters of Science in Human Resource Management

Minimum entry requirements:

  • At least a 2nd class honours Bachelors degree (Upper Division) in a relevant area from a recognized University OR

  • 2nd Class Bachelors degree (Lower Division) in a relevant field with at least two years post qualification experience OR 

  • A 2nd Class Bachelors degree (Lower Division) with a relevant postgraduate diploma from a recognized Institution with relevant work experience or research publication.

Post-graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management

Minimum entry requirements:

Admission Requirement:

  • Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE and at least a C Plain in English and Mathematics or Business Studies or Commerce or Accounting or Economics OR

  • Two Principles and a Subsidiary Pass at ‘A’ Level plus at least a Pass in Mathematics and English at ‘O’ Level OR

  • Diploma holders in Business related discipline from a recognized institution OR

  • CPA/CPS

Part I – 1st year

Part II – 2nd year

Part III – 3rd year

  • HND holders Credit or Distinction – 3rd year

Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management

Admission Requirements:

  • Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at least a C Plain in Mathematics and a C Plain in English OR

  • A Diploma in Human Resource Management with at least a Credit.

Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality Management

Admission Requirements:

  • Minimum Mean Grade C+ at KCSE and at least a C Plain in English or Kiswahili OR

  • 2 Principles and a Subsidiary Pass at ‘A’ level plus at least a Pass in Mathematics and English at ‘O’ level OR

  • Diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized Institution.

The upcoming programmes are,

  • Bachelor of Science in Economics (Financial Economics).
  • Bachelor of Science in Economics (Economic Policy Analysis).
  • Bachelor of Science in Economics (Economics and Statistics).
  • Diploma in Business Management

Admission requirements:

Mean grade of C- in KCSE OR  Certificate in the relevant field of study

Diploma in Human Resource Management

Admission requirements:

Mean grade of C plain  in KCSEOR  Certificate in the relevant field of study

Certificate in Business Management
